Is there harm in warning against these Sects that are in opposition to the Methodology of Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jamaa’ah? | Shaykh al-Fawzan

QUESTION: Is there harm in warning against these Sects that are in opposition to the Methodology of Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jamaa’ah?

ANSWER: “We warn against all those who oppose [the Salaf] generally and we say: ‘We adhere to the path of Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jamaa’ah and we we abandon those who oppose Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jamaa’ah regardless of whether their opposition is MAJOR or MINOR. This is because if we are lenient with the opposition, then perhaps it may grow and increase. So opposition is not allowed AT ALL. Furthermore, it is obligatory to adhere to the path of Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jamaa’ah in both major and minor issues.”

QUESTION: Are we require to mention the good qualities of those we warn against?

ANSWER: “If you mention their good qualities, then this means that you have called (the people) to follow them. Know, DO NOT MENTION THEIR GOOD QUALITIES. Mention the error they are upon only. You are not entrusted to praise and approve of their actions – you are ONLY entrusted with exposing the error they are upon so that they may repent from it, and so others can beware of it. It may even be that the error that they are upon wipes away their good deeds if it is kufr or shirk. It could also be that this error outweighs their good deeds. And perhaps it may seem like they are good deeds in your eyes, yet they ARE NOT SO IN THE SIGHT OF ALLAAH.”

Deviation is in Leaving the Sunnah Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq (Radiallahu’anhu)

Abû Bakr Al-Siddîq – Allâh be pleased with him – said:

I will not leave anything Allâh’s Messenger – Allâh’s peace and blessings be upon him – did, except that I will also do it; for I fear that if I were to leave any of his commands and ways I would deviate.

Al-Bukhârî, Al-Sahîh 2:386 hadîth no. 3093; Ibn Battah, Al-Ibânah article 77, and others.

How to deal with innovators Shaykh al-Fawzan

Shaykh Saaleh al Fawzaan (May Allah preserve him) states:

It is forbidden to visit the innovator and to sit with him, unless it is for the (purpose) of advice and rejection of what he is upon.  That is because keeping his company has an evil effect and leads to spreading his enmity (i.e. his misguidance) to others.  It is obligatory to warn against them (i.e. the innovators), and to warn against their evil if it becomes impossible to prevent them from practicing innovation.

And if not, it is obligatory upon the scholars of the Muslims and those in charge of the affairs of the Muslims to prevent and restrain the innovators from their evil.  That is because the danger they pose to Islaam is great.

It must be known that the nations of disbelief encourage the innovators in spreading their innovations, and aid them upon that in creating divergent paths (i.e. disunite the word of the Muslims and create sects that are in opposition to the singular path of the Salafus Saalih in Belief and Methodology).  That is because in this is termination of Islaam and distortion of its image.  And Allah knows best.

We ask Allah (subhaanah) to aid His Religion and make His Word Uppermost, and make His enemies forsaken.  Wa sallal laahu alaa nabiyyinaa Muhammad wa aalihi wa sahbihee.

MUST READ- Imam Al-Albani: The Prophetic Description of ‘Dogs of Hellfire’ and Contemporary Takfiri Kharijites

The late and great hadith Scholar, Muhammad Nasir al-Din al-Albani (rahimahullaah) stated about the contemporary takfiri and revolutionary movements that were spawned in the 1960s onwards, [the head of them being Sayyid Qutb, the following:

(Translated from Arabic)

And the intent here is that they instituted an evil way (sunnah) into Islam and made revolting against the ruler to be an act of devotion (deen) over the passing of time and (passing) of days despite the warning of the Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) against them in many ahaadeeth, from them, his saying (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam), “The Kharijites are the Dogs of Hellfire.” And despite the fact they did not see clear, plain manifest disbelief from them (the rulers), but only what is less than that of oppression, tyranny and sin. And today, history repeats itself as they say, for there has emerged a new band amongst the Muslim youth who did not understand except very little of the religion and they hold that the rulers do not rule by what Allaah has revealed except little, and they held [the obligation] of revolting against them without consulting with the people of knowledge, understanding and wisdom. Rather, they followed their heads, kindled blind tribulations, and shed blood in Egypt, Syria and Algeria, and prior to that (was) the tribulation of the sacred precincts in Makkah. Through (these activities) they opposed the authentic hadeeth upon which all the Muslims, the earlier ones and the later ones abided by, except for the Kharijites.

Can i listen to Mishary al-Efasy? – Shaykh ‘Ubayd al-Jaabiree

Shaykh Ubayd al-Jaabiree touches upon Mishary Alafasy (al-Mishari al-Efasi)

Shaykh Ubayd al-Jaabiree was asked (8th Jumadah al-Aakhirah 1428H)

What is the ruling on listening to the remembrances of the morning and evening (recited) in a melodious (entertaining) way, such as the cassette distributed now in the markets of al-Mishari al-Efasi?

The Shaykh responded:

Mishari al-Efasi is from those put to trial by the way of the Mutasawwifah. For this reason he takes the path of anaasheeds accompanied with acting and the likes of this is not permissible to listen to. Upon you is to (turn to) reciters from the Salafis such as Shaykh Ali al-Hudhayfi.

Saying “Kullu ‘aamin wa antum bi khayr” (Wishing you well every year) – Shaykh al-Albanee(rahimahullaah)

In the casette no. 323 of the series “Silsilah al-Hudaa wal-Nur”, Shaykh al-Albanee (rahimahullaah) – following a conversation at the end of which a person gave him the greeting, “Kullu ‘aamin wa antum bi khayr” (Wishing you well every year) – he said:

“As for this closing remark, then it has no basis for it at all, it is sufficient for you (to say), “May Allaah accept your obedience.” As for “wishing you well every year,” this is a greeting of the non-Muslims which has crept into us the Muslims, due to our heedlesness, [Allaah says], “And remind, for verily reminder benefits the believers.”

And in the cassette no. 52 from the same series, in another conversation where someone greeted the Shaykh with the same statement, he (rahimahullaah) said,

“As for taking a specific phrase – wishing you will every year (kullu aaminwa antum bikhayr) – this has no basis, support from the Islamic Shari’ah, and is used in every Shari’ah, there is no difference (in this greeting) between a Jew, Christian and Muslim.”

2 Warnings: Beware of The Vile Ikhwanul Muslimoon; Do Not Be Deceived By Ahlul-Bid’ah who may agree with the Salafees in certain matters

Two Warnings: Beware of The Vile Ikhwanul Muslimoon; Do Not Be Deceived By Ahlul-Bid’ah who may agree with the Salafees in certain matters

Bismillaah Al-Hamdulillaah wa salatu wa salaamu ‘ala rasulullaah Amma-ba’d

While reading from the work of Shaikh Ahmad An-Najmee (rahimahullaah Ta’aala), Abu Uwais (rahimahullaah Ta’aala) relayed some of the vile characteristics of the destructive manhaj of Ikhwanul Muslimoon, which can also be found here.

Abu Uwais elaborated on the Shaikh’s Najmee’s seventh point:

7- Their [Ikhwanul Muslimoon’s] hatred for Ahlut-Tawheed, and the people [who traverse] the path of Salafiyyah, and their loathing of them and they make that plain in their statements regarding the country of Sa’udi Arabia, which was established upon at-Tawheed, and teaches at-Tawheed in its schools and in its institutions and universities; and from the murder of Jameel ar-Rahmaan al-Afghaanee because he was calling to at-Tawheed, and he was one who had schools in which he taught at-Tawheed.

[What follows are notes – not verbatim – and supplementary details from other sources, such as SPUBS.] __________________________________________________ _______________

Abu Uwais gave details of the murder of Shaikh Jameel ur-Rahmaan (rahimahullaah), who was one of the pioneers of the Afghaani Jihaad, and actually began by purifying the region of Kunur from Shirk and bid’ah, and was able to establish a mini Islamic State.

Abu Uwais said that Shaikh Jameel ur-Rahmaan (rahimahullaah rahmatan wasee’ah) was a scholar in the general sense of the word, and was able to push back the Soviets, and this with his men upon Tawheed, Sunnah, Manhaj Salaf-us-saleh, no Isbaal, every man with a beard, upon the Sunnah, upon the ‘aqeedah of Ahlus-Sunnah, correctly believing in Allaah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, The Last Day, The Qadr – the good of it and the bad of it – as well as Tawheed Ar-Ruboobiyah, Tawheedul-‘Ibaada, Tawheed al-Asma` Wa Sifaat. Everyone in his care was 100% Salafee!

Shaikh Jameel carved off a land called Kunur, a good-sized land that they could live in as Salafee. He set up the Sharee’ah. Had his guards around the land. They got up in the morning, heard the adhaan, walked to the masjid, prayed behind Shaikh Jameel ur-Rahmaan, learning Tawheed and the Sunnah, eating halal food, all the while a full-scale war was going on. He got school set up, women taken care of, clinics, hospital, he established what they call a dawla – a government – that which the Ikhwaan have been crying about. Some said: oh, if you would have seen Kunur, if you would have smelled Kunur…just a beautiful situation.

[Maa sha`Allaah!]

All this during the war against the Russian Communists, who wanted to force Communism (atheism) on the Muslims, and take over the oil -500 years worth of oil – and the opium. Shaikh Jameel taught the Muslims Tawheed and the ‘Aqeedah Salafiyyah, while fighting against the atheists.

So one day, an Ikhwaanee from the factions of the Ikhwaanee Gulbuddin Hikmatyaar visited Shaykh Jameel. When this Ikhwanee and those with him entered upon Shaikh Jameel to supposedly learn Qur`an, the guards wanted to check the Ikhwanees for weapons, but Shaikh Jameel told his Salafee brothers to let them in without searching – the shaikh had a policy of not checking Arabs due to the respect for them, since it was the Arabs who supported Islaam from the beginning.

They were let in, and they sat with Shaikh Jameel, who offered them food and drink, was hospitable toward them, and taught them and recited to them the Speech of Allaah. Then as the Ikhwanees got up to leave, one of them took out a revolver and shot him three times in the head. After which, the Ikhwanees joined the Soofis, the Baatinees, [the Communist Russians, as mentioned later] and drug dealers and tore up Kunur, killing every Salafee they could find.

Reading Qur`an with him, then blowing his head off! Ikhwanul Muslimoon; that’s their way.

Shot him in the head three times. Took his life! A life full of Tawheed, full of Sunnah, full of Salafiyyah. Never fought anyone but the kaafir. Never killed anyone but the kaafir. Never directed his weapon toward anyone but the kaafir. He had such a respect for the Arabs, that he let them in without checking them whatsoever. [Yet the Ikhwanee] shot him in the head![1] Because the shaikh was a fool? No, [the murdering Ikhwanee] was a fool. Because:

And the good end is for the righteous (pious). (Al-Qasas, ayah 83) Our shaikh died in the path of Allaah. Establishing that where he could almost see himself clear. The dream was almost something he could reach. Establishment of a Dawla in Afghanistan – upon Qur`an, upon Sunnah, upon Manhaj Salaf-us-saleh.

Who pulled the rope from under him? No, it wasn’t the Russians. No, it wasn’t – at least directly – the Americans.[2] No, it was Ikhwanul Muslimoon – the Islaamic Brotherhood – because they want “khair (good)” for us. [Abu Uwais was refuting the Ikhwanee’s lying slogan of wanting good for the Muslims with mockery.]

[Remember] their [unlegislated and invented] principle is: We work with one another on the matters that we agree upon, and we excuse one another on those matters we disagree upon. [So] they gathered with every Soofi group in Afghanistan, with every Soofi Baatinee group they could get find and drug smugglers – those trafficking drugs and opium – they joined with them and they gathered together for one big army and destroyed the whole village and area of the shaikh.

They killed every Salafee they could find, killing every Salafee they could find because they work with those they can agree with, (such as) the Communists, dope smugglers.[3]

Can you imagine getting (teaming) with a dope smuggler and killing a brother?

– Killing those who had memorized Qur`an. – Killing those who had studied Hadeeth. – Killing those who had fought upon the battle field to raise the banner of Allaah, Tabarak wa Ta’aala, high! – [Ikhwanul Muslimoon] killed those who shed no blood, except the blood of a mushrik (polytheist) or kaafir (disbeliever). They gathered together, and they got all their strength and they went in there, and they blew up Kunur. They blew away everyone they could find, children and everything!

Because this is [Ikhwanul Muslimoon’s] da’wah!

What? They want an Islamic government [which they destroyed]! They’re upon the program of Hassan al-Banna [their deviant founder].

So when the shaikh [Ahmad an-Najmee, rahimahullaah] said here: they have a hatred for the people of Tawheed, then he said, and an example of this is the killing of Jameel ur-Rahmaan. Man, don’t forget him; don’t ever forget him.

Here are other benefits Abu Uwais (rahimahullaah) shared, including those in the ensuing Q&A session:

“They [Ikhwanul Muslimoon] hate Tawheed! They hate Tawheed!”

“Ikhwanul Muslimoon were the devils behind it!”

Digest this so that you know the evil of Ikhwanul Muslimoon, what they’re capable of. There’s no Muslim country except they’ve corrupted [in it], and killed, and maimed, and blew up [in it]. Look at their history in Sudaan, Kena, Lebanon and throughout the Muslim world, and you’ll find Ikhwanul Muslimoon behind all that. Their harm upon Islaam for the last 80 years has been horrendous.

Abu Uwais also warned of ISNA, ICNA and Siraj Wahaj [4] and Hizb-ut-Tahreer (“Freedom Party”), which also “allows” pornography. He said about Hizb-ut-Tahreer’s founder Taqi-ud-Deen an-Nabahani: he said he was going to have an Islamic government in 12 years, and that was 80 years ago. Never did it!

He said Siraj Wahaj speaks at their conferences [ISNA, Ikhwanees], and is almost fitted to be their president. Today, Wahaj is the VP of ISNA, a flaming Ikhwanee organization. [Aoodhubillah! Keep in mind the statement of the Salaf: Moderation upon the Sunnah is much better than striving upon bid’ah!]

…This (Ikhwanul Muslimoon) is a dangerous group. Be warned against them!

Also, they [Ikhwanul Muslimoon] read the books of [the deviant] Sayyid Qutb and FatHee Yaqin [not Yaqeen]. They may shave or not; some of them smoke.

You might even find an Ikhwanee who looks Salafee, but they’re not the majority. Some of them might take from Fiqh-us-Sunnah from Sayed Saabiq, which is generally correct[5][6], [so they may have some aspects of Sunnah -so don’t be fooled if you see these from them!]

Many, many, many groups – such as “Jama’at-Jihaad” and the old, blind man ‘Abdur-Rahman -are break-offs from Ikhwanul Muslimoon, such as also “Jama’at al-Islaamiyah.”

Every time something foolish in the Islaamic world happens, know that the people responsible are Ikhwanul Muslimoon or break-offs from Ikhwanul Muslimoon!

Jama’atul Yaqeen wa-Tawquf, Tanzeen this or Tazneen that, that’s them [Ikhwanul Muslimoon]! That’s them in another color! That’s them in another way! That’s them in another method! That’s them in another program, that’s them in another country, that’s them in another call!

Same guys, and they’re dangerous and they are Ahlul-Bid’ah. They are to be avoided. Do not be deceived by all their shaking hands and acting like everything is alright, wearing a suit and sweater, and giving sadaqah.

Don’t be fooled. He’s off! He’s not on the way of the Salaf-us-Saleh; rather he’s on an innovated way. [They are] misleading many from this Ummah away from the Straight Path. They are deaf, and they are causing the destruction of [the Muslims’] lives, properties and countries. These people destroyed Algeria and Sudaan. They separated the Muslims, and they came with a Hizbeeyah that was foreign to the Muslims.

Oh, yeah. They’re evil!.

And the scholars have detailed their problems and issues. But is anybody listening? Does anybody care? Does anybody want to know how we got to the position we’re in? This was no accident. There were people who strategized for this to happen.

That’s why it’s important to know their evil, and not just their name, as some say Iguana.

Notes: [1] When refuted and rebuked and confronted, the Ikhwanees say what they often say when caught and refuted, “this is Ijtihaad.” Of course, as is well known, Ijtihaad is for the qualified scholars upon the Sunnah who strive to come to a correct ruling using as proof the Qur`an and Sunnah upon the correct understanding. Ikhwanul Muslimoon are neither true scholars, nor do they use the Qur`an and Sunnah correctly – anyway.

Shaikh Rabee Bin Haadee Al-Madkhalee (hafidhahullaah Ta’aala) said: “We do not say that there are people of ijtihaad amongst ahlul bidah because they are followers of desires, and Allaah and His Messenger testified to this. The misguided innovator stirs up discord/splits, and errs, and then says to you, ‘This is ijtihaad.’

And when Hikmatiyaar and the misguided parties (in Afghanistaan) murdered Shaikh Jameel Ur-Rahmaan, they said, ‘This is ijtihaad.’ Making lawful the spilling of the blood of the Salafees is ijtihaad to them. This is what it is; they (Ahlul Bidah) do not fall upon an affair of misguidance or a calamity except that they say, ‘This is ijtihaad.’

This is a dilution of Islaam. It is mixing falsehood, misguidance and bid’ah with truth when the mistakes of the (real scholars of ijtihaad) – for which they are rewarded – are placed at the same level with innovation about which the Messenger (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wasallam) has informed of it being in the fire.” [Ajwibatul ‘Allaamatush Shaikh Rabee Bin Haadee Al Madkhalee ‘Alaa As`ilah Abee Rawaaha Al-Manhajiyyah; page: 20]

[2] Salafi Publications relayed from the work of Imam Muqbil (rahimahullaah Ta’aala) that Shaikh Jameel ur-Rahmaan was murdered by an Ikhwaanee from the factions of the Ikhwaanee Gulbuddin Hikmatyaar, who was amongst the top recipients of CIA funding. Refer to the excellent book on the murder of Shaikh Jameel ur-Rahmaan by Shaykh Muqbil bin Haadee al-Waadi’ee (rahimahullaah Ta’aala), who indicated that the Ikhwaanee factions are supported and funded by the disbelievers, and that they are often employed by the disbelievers directly or indirectly.

[3] Having Eeman and Befriending Those Who Oppose Allaah and His Messenger Cannot Exist in the same Person (or Jinn). Allaah, Subhanahu wa Ta’aala, said:

َYou (O Muhammad) will not find any people who believe in Allaah and the Last Day, making friendship with those who oppose Allaah and His Messenger (Muhammad), even though they were their fathers, or their sons, or their brothers, or their kindred (people). For such He has written Faith in their hearts, and strengthened them with Rooh (proofs, light and true guidance) from Himself. And We will admit them to Gardens (Paradise) under which rivers flow, to dwell therein (forever). Allaah is pleased with them, and they with Him. They are the Party of Allaah. Verily, it is the Party of Allaah that will be the successful. (Al-Mujadilah, ayah 22)

The grandson of Muhammad Ibn ‘Abdul-Wahhab (rahimahumullaah), Sulaymaan Ibn ‘Abdullaah Ibn Muhammad Ibn ‘Abdul-Wahhab said: “Allaah ‘Azza wa Jall said that you shall Not find a person who believes in Allaah and in the hereafter befriending those who oppose Allaah and His Messenger, even if they were the closest people to him, and that is against Eeman and opposite to it since it cannot exist along with Eeman except in the way water and fire coexist (it is impossible).” [Source:Ad-Durar As-Saniyyah 8/140, via the footnotes of Shaikh Saalih al-Fawzaan’s Issues Pertaining to Eeman]

[4] In relation to the well-known subject that the Ikhwanul Muslimoon and other Ahlul-Bid’ah do not use the Qur`an and Sunnah upon the correct understanding as proofs, student Abu Yusuf Khaleefah (hafidhahullaah) relayed that Siraj Wahaj [one of the callers of Ikhwanul Muslimoon in America] said after talking about the Salafees, “they have their proof, though!”

Allaahu akbar! After hearing this, what prevented those in the audience with intellect from amongst them from saying, “What else is there, except following the Qur`an and Sunnah? Our Deen is only Qur`an and Sunnah. Oh Allaah, direct me to these people (the Salafees) so I may be upon what your Messenger (salallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) was upon!”

Didn’t Allaah’s Messenger (salallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) say: I have left amongst you that which if you hold onto it, you will never go astray after me: the Book of Allaah and my Sunnah.

Guidance and knowledge must be taken from Qur`an and Sunnah (revelation from Allaah), and it is the only way to achieve knowledge of the Deen of Allaah… The people of knowledge have said: He who comes and says, ‘I can learn Islaam from other than Qur`an and Sunnah,’ or ‘I can learn and get guidance from other than Qur`an and Sunnah; I can get it from my ‘aql (intellect),’ or some other shape, fashion or form, then this person has committed kufr, exiting from Islaam. This statement is kufr, unless there is something that prevents the matter of kufr from being attached to him [such as insanity]… The knowledge of the Deen is acquired from the Qur`an and Sunnah.

Didn’t Allaah, Subhanahu wa Ta’aala, say: So after the truth, what else can there be, save error? How then are you turned away? (Yunus, ayah 32)

This is why Shaikh Al-Albaanee said: “Islaam is Qur`an and Sunnah according to the understanding of the Salaf.” (al-Huda wa-Noor, 357)

All praise is for Allaah, Who exposed Siraj Wahaj and all those who still fanatically cling to him – in opposition to the truth! This Siraj is the same evil caller who was refuted by the scholars in Yemen for making ribaa “halal.” Aoodhubillaah! May Allaah protect the Muslims from his evil.

[5] Shaikh Al-Albaanee (rahimahullaah) advised Sabiq in private concerning some of the errors in this book, and Sabiq did not correct them; so Al-Albaanee (rahimahullaah) refuted these errors for the benefit of the Ummah. Al-Hamdulillaah!

[6] This excellent point that Abu Uwais (rahimahulaah) brought up shows that the Salafee should not be deceived by Ahlul-Bid’ah, if he sees from them something agreeing with the Salafees. Sadly, some Muslims today – may Allaah guide and protect the Muslims – if they see someone, for example, combining the prayers when it rains, they’ll use this as a “reason” that he’s Salafee (or Sunni). And this is a great error! Read below for details:

Do Not Be Deceived By Ahlul-Bid’ah who may agree with the Salafees in certain matters

Direct your attention, in-sha`Allaah, toward a specific part of the well known hadeeth of Hudhayfa ibn al-Yamaan (radiallaahu Ta’aala ‘anhu):

“…I (Hudhaifah) said: “Will there be any good after that evil?”

He (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wasallam) said, “Yes, but therein will be Da`khan (a hidden evil).

I asked: What will be the evil hidden therein?

He said: (That time will witness the rise of) the people who will adopt ways other than mine and seek guidance other than mine. You will know (their) good points as well as (their) bad points.”

Student Abu ‘Abdis-Salaam (hafidhahullaah) said: “(Meaning) you will see things from them which you will acknowledge and accept, and you will see from them things which you will disapprove of. So we understand from this, ya ‘Ibad-ullaah (oh slaves of Allaah), that just because there comes from a person who is upon dalaala (misguidance) something that agrees with the haqq (truth) it equates to nothing so long as they are upon the guidance other than the guidance of the Prophet (salallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam).

Because the Prophet (salallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said that, in describing the deficiency of the people who will seek guidance with a guidance of other than the guidance of the Prophet (salallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam). We will see certain things that we will acknowledge and accept, and we will see certain things that we will deny and reject.”

Imaam Ibn Qayyim (rahimahullaah Ta’aala) said: “If bid’ah only consisted of lies, then it would NOT have been accepted and everybody would even hurry to condemn it and refute it. And if it only consisted of Haqq (truth), then it would not have been a Bid’ah, rather, in agreement with the Sunnah. But it (Bid’ah) consists of both truth and lies in which the truth is clothed with lies.

He (Allaah) Ta’aala said:

َAnd do not mix the truth with falsehood or conceal the truth while you know [it]. (al-Baqarah, ayah 42).” [as-Sawaa´iq al-Mursalah (3/925)]

Mufaddal ibn Muhalhal – rahimahullaah – said: “If the heretic (person of bid’ah) started mentioning his bid’ah right at the beginning of the sitting, you would be on your guard and flee from him. But what he does is begin by mentioning hadeeth from the Sunnah, then, he slips his bid’ah in on you. It might then stick to your heart, but when will it leave your heart?” [Ibn Battah, Al-Ibaanah Al-Kubraa, 2:444]

Also, our father Shaikh Rabee’ bin Haadee al-Madkhalee (hafidhahullaah Ta’aala) said: “Don’t say about a man who opposes the manhaj of the Salaf that he is a ‘Salafee.’ No, don’t say about a man who opposes the manhaj of the Salaf that he is a Salafee.

Don’t say that a man is ‘Salafee’ until you are sure that he is upon the manhaj [of the Salaf]. He is honored by it, and calls to it. He loves and unites based upon it, and hates and separates because of it. This is a Salafee. But someone who claims that he is ‘Salafee,’ and defends Ahlul-Bid’ah, and defends them against Ahlul-Sunnah, this is not a Salafee whatsoever. Whoever he is – Arab or non-Arab, in the East or in the West – because Salafiyyah has special qualities.

Salafiyyah has signs. Salafiyyah has affairs that differentiate its people from others in Walaa` and Baraa`, and ‘Aqeedah and Da’wah, and the stances that they take.”

Shaikh Muhammad bin Ramzaan Al-Haajiree (hafidhahullaah) said: “What are the characteristics of the person of the Sunnah?

His ‘aqeedah (belief). His worship. His following [of the Prophet, salallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam]. His da’wah (his call), his invitation. His character, mannerisms. His transactions, his dealings with the people. This is the person of the Sunnah. His ‘aqeedah is correct, and it’s based upon following the Prophet (salallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam). His worship is like that of the Prophet (salallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam). His calling or invitation is likewise (upon the Sunnah of the Prophet, (salallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam))…”

Shaikh Ahmad Al-Bazmool (hafidhahullaah) said: “And from the most important matters, in my view, that the Salafee youths must pay attention to, is that a person should Not be described as a Salafee because he has speech relating to an issue from the issues of Salafeeyah. (Yet at the same instance) we neither know his stance pertaining to other issues of Salafeeyah, nor do we know the methodology that he is upon. And it is possible that some of those who oppose (Salafeeyah) may agree with the Salafees (in certain matters).”

And here and here and here are reminders of the Pillars/Principles of Salafiyyah , such that if an individual removes one from himself, he has removed himself from Salafiyyah, similar to that of a person who did not sit between the two sajdas, then he has no salat, and similar to that of a person who in wudhu did not wash his hands after his face (with the excuse “I already washed my hands in the beginning”), then he has no wudhu.

So do not be deceived just because an individual:

– knows the conditions of La illaaha il Allaah – teaches Qur`an, or memorized Qur`an – teaches hadeeth, or memorized 40 Nawawee – teaches ‘Aqeedah – combines the prayers when it rains – knows the principles of fiqh – quotes from some of the Salafee scholars

A Kharijee Takfeeri who has memorized the conditions of La illaaha il Allaah is still a Kharijee Takfeeri.

A grave-worshipping Soofee or Deobandi or Barelwee who teaches Qur`an, or memorized Qur`an is still a grave-worshipping Soofee or Deobandi or Barelwee.

An Ikhwaanee who revolts against the rulers and calls to democracy and at the same time this revolter teaches hadeeth is still an Ikhwanee who calls to democracy and revolts against the rulers.

A Tahreeri or Suroori who gives sadaqah is still a Tahreeri or Suroori.

A Qadari who prays with his hands on his chest is still a Qadaree.

An Ash’aree or Jahmee or Mu’tazilee who teaches ‘Aqeedah is still an Ash’aree or Jahmee or Mu’tazilee who rejects Attributes of Allaah, so flee from his ‘aqeedah classes!

A Tableeghi who belives in Wahdat al-Wujood, and uses miswak is still a Tableeghi who belives in Wahdat al-Wujood.

A Raafidee who drinks with his right hand is still a filthy Raafidee.

So don’t be deceived, ya ‘Ibadullaah!

Allaah knows best.

And our final supplication is Al-Hamdulilaah

Raising Hands To Supplicate After The Prayer Is A Bid’ah!

Translated by Abbas Abu Yahya

‘The people of knowledge explained that it is not legislated to raise the hands in Dua’ after completing the obligatory prayer, and that it opposes the guidance of the Prophet -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam.

Ibn al-Haaj -Rahimullaah- said: ‘It has not been mentioned that when the Prophet -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- had completed the prayer and given Tasleem, that he raised his hands and supplicated, and that the people said Ameen to his Dua’. Nor was it mentioned regarding the Khulafah Rashideen after the Prophet -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam, nor from the rest of the Companions -Radi Allaahu anhum.  Therefore, something which the Prophet -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- did not do, nor any one of his Companions then there is no doubt that leaving that action is better than doing it, rather this action is a Bida’. . . .’ [al-Mudkhal 2/276]

It has been mentioned in the ‘Fatawa of the Lajnah ad-Daimah for research of knowledge and verdicts’:
‘Making Dua’ after the obligatory prayer is not from the Sunnah if it is done while raising the hands.  This is whether it is done by the Imam alone or just those who had prayed behind him, or the Imam and the people together. Rather this is a Bida’, because it has not been conveyed from the Prophet -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- nor from his Companions -Radi Allaahu anhum-. As for Dua’ without raising the hands, then that is okay due to some Ahadeeth mentioned regarding that.’
[‘Fatawa Lajnah’ 7/103].

We are not to raise our hands after the Obligatory Salaat as it is an innovation!
